I learned how to do Pattern repeats in Photoshop this week! Simple block repeats with isolated motifs like this paisley:

and more difficult ones with bleed edges in an offset like these dots and the checkerboard/explosions:


and this half-drop:

I'm still no pro, but I'm getting more comfortable with photoshop. All of these patterns have been printed onto fabric 8x10's, the single colors over a shibori dyed fabric, and the multis onto tyvek and silk.
That's very impressive. Digital photo manipulation is a black art to me!
